Managing Mold and Mildew on Teak Furniture

Managing mold and mildew on teak furniture is a must.  Premium Teak Furniture is extremely mold and mildew resistant due to the density of teak wood and the natural oils in the wood. The most common reason for mold and mildew to be on teak furniture is not keeping your teak furniture clean. While the mold or mildew will have a difficult time attaching to the teak, it will easily attach to the dirt, pollen and other debris on the wood. Then, if left to sit, it will eventually get into the wood.

The solution is simple. Keep your teak furniture clean by gently hosing it off or wiping it down whenever it is too dirty. Here in Atlanta, that means getting rid of the yellow mist of pollen in the Spring as much as possible.

Stay tuned for later posts on what to do if the mold/mildew has already taken hold.
